Be Panama's favourite guest
Ten quick ones. No lecture, promise.
1. Let wildlife be wild. Look, don't touch, feed or hold. Say no to sloth selfies.
2. Reef-safe sunscreen only. Float above the coral; it's alive.
3. Leave the shells, take the stories. No coral, shells, turtle shell or feathers as souvenirs.
4. Ask before you click, especially with children. In some Indigenous communities a small photo fee is normal.
5. Visit communities as a guest. Dress modestly and follow your local guide's lead.
6. Children are not an attraction. No sweets or money handed to kids, no orphanage visits. Want to help? Ask us how.
7. Spend locally. Family fondas, markets, local guides, the laundry around the corner.
8. Save water and power. On the islands, they come from the rain and the sun.
9. Pack light, pack out. Refillable bottle, cloth bag, rubbish back with you.
10. Know the law. Drugs are illegal, and the sexual exploitation of anyone is a serious crime.
